1. List ten things you want to say to people but know you never will.
2. Don't say who they are directed to.

I'm going to mix things up and list ten things I want to say to ONE person.

I. I no longer recognize my once good and trusted friend, I don't like the person you're becoming.

II. I don't appreciate the apparent "pissing contest" you've taken up with me.

III. How dare you look down on me for the careers I chose to aspire to. You certainly won't be scoffing when I graduate with a Tufts degree.

IV. I know you aren't nearly as happy and together as you claim to be.

V. In fact, the only one you seem to have convinced of this happiness, is yourself.

VI. The people you have surround yourself with are pretentious, close-minded and generally unlikable. You seem to be taking all your social cues from them.

VII. You need to treat the people who know you best with a little more respect.

VII. Stop being so selfish. It wouldn't kill you to ask how your "real friends" are doing/feeling for a change.

IX. While I'm on the subject, friendships are not one sided. If you want to keep them, you'll need to work at them.

X. It's time to grow up, get over yourself, and take responsibility for the things YOU fucked up.

I can't help myself, I had to post a little writing snippet by my very talented (now published) boyfriend.

Wanderer's Dream

Should a garden snake speak to you in a language unknown, do not panic. If it’s forked, sliver of a tongue produces words from an ancient civilization, words that might mean murder or prosperity or love, there is nothing to fear.

The first time a serpent, an expert in subterfuge, approached me through the riotous wet grass behind my little house, I was not prepared for its seductive incantations. Its sound was like that of a decaying romance language, or a possessed hermit atop of plastic crate, preaching to the masses, channeling some primeval poetry.

I used to stand in my weeded backyard and listen to trees, to branches that whisper little nothings to the sky and attentive ears. And if you listen carefully, those whispers might tell you something meaningful. Their sighing could affect your very existence, widening your eyes and alerting you to forgotten nightmares. But then, I don’t really believe that; I just listen. So when a garden snake glided through the rain-coated grass and spoke to me, far louder than any murmuring foliage, I thought I had entered some biblical vision – some fictitious adventure conjured by my boredom. The sounds the snake made sunk into my skin, and I quickly discovered it was very real, this cold-blooded messenger warning me or blessing me or professing another’s affection. The voice was purposeful, insistent, and yet, clearly, not human. But alas, as I discovered, I was merely asleep, not in my backyard, but rather my own bed.

Now remember, if a slithering lyricist should approach you, and should it speak in unknown secrets, do not be afraid; for you are clearly standing in a wanderer’s dream, an Eden in a focused mind, listening to the trees and a messenger whom you will never understand.

Today is a day of FAIL.

I. Publish! from 9-5. Yes, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Six hours in class. Why is this acceptable? Don't ask me.

II. Six hours of working with InDesign.

III. I can no longer avoid the MOUNTAIN of fucking dishes I left in the sink after making (and devouring) the most kick ass *pasta carbonara.

EDIT: A side note of NOT FAIL - My pasta was actually incredible. I out did myself.

IV. Did I mention that I'm working with InDesign for six hours?

V. I hate InDesign.

GOD WHY?

* http://www.bonappetit.com/dishes/pasta-carbonara/2008/09/orecchiette_carbonara

I improvised a bit, I substituted the leeks with half a yellow onion (diced and cooked in bacon fat, delicious) and the orecchiette with ricotta and parmesan tortellini. I also added half a cup of peas (totally foregoing the parsley).

Alright well, news.

I've decided to transfer school again, because I fucking hate MassArt. I hate their program, I hate their facilities, and I hate my professors.

The way I see it, I'm going on five years at art school now...I don't think I should be required to take Intro to Black and White Photography (what!?) yet again.

Hopefully SMFA will give me more freedom with my assignments, because honestly, at this point, I just want to be doing "my own thing". I also think it would be nice to have an entire semester to work on a project. No deadlines. No core requirements. It's the way art school should be set up.

Maybe if I actually enjoy my last two years of college, it won't feel like I'm biding my time until I can get to culinary school.

HOLY FUCK! THAT SWIM RELAY! DEAR LORD!

I have no words...it was so close. We won by milliseconds. Fucking milliseconds.

They keep replaying the win in slow mo.

The swim gods were obviously not smiling on the French during that race. Cried.

OH MY GOD!

Many many congrats to Jason Lezak and the U.S. relay swim team!
